Hometown Glory - A personal guide with 10 reasons to visit Lucerne

Happy Sunday dear readers.

I am spending my weekend in lovely Lucerne. If you are following my blog for a while you will have noticed that I am originally from this little city in Switzerland. I shared plenty of moments on my instagram account(@bonsoircherieblog)
So you will know that I am deeply in love with Lucerne.

I want to give you 10 reasons why Lucerne is absolutely worth a visit. This is a very special and personal guide from Bonsoir Chérie for you.
I'll share the most beautiful places with you.

Initiator for this special post is Toblerone (the famous and delicious swiss chocolate with the Matterhorn shape). They create a buzz about Switzerland and we are looking for the most beautiful canton in Switzerland. So if you think yours is the most beautiful one, tag #toberonekantone in your socialmedia entries and share your images with us. And visit the page to choose your favorite canton to win some nice prices. Even a weekend in the south of Switzerland is offered.

But first let me guide you through Lucerne:
And if you ever happen to be in Lucerne, please tell me. i'll be more than happy to provide more local tips.

1. Boattrips

If you ever happen to be in Lucerne and the weather is nice you should definitely go on a boat trip. We have those beautiful old big steam boats which will bring you around the cutest places following the coast of lake lucerne.

2. Seebad Lucerne

On sundays I need to start the day with a coffee. This coffeeplace is actually an ancient bath were you can go for a swim. It is called "Seebad Luzern". They have a nice selection of pastries and very tasty coffee. You can also have a drink in the evening or a delicious salad. And: You have an amazing view over the lake.

3. Festivals

We have many music festivals in Lucerne. One of the most famous ones is the Blue balls Festival which takes place in June 17th.- 25th. They play all over Lucerne on Openair Spaces but also in the beautiful Hotel Schweizerhof and the KKL - which is worth a visit with it's famous architecture from Jean Nouvel.
I'll attend a concert of James Bay with friends there and I am so looking forward to it.

4. The View
We have an unbeatable view. I love the old houses and the forest in the background. Can you spot the little white castle? It is called Château Gütsch. They have a very nice bar and terrace.

Even if it is rainy you can enjoy the beauty of lucerne. This is the view out of our local Starbucks. With the famous wooden bridge and the watertower.

5. Shooting Locations

Lucerne offers uncountable places to shoot outfit. Heaven for Fashionbloggers.
The white Outfit was shot in the Dietschiberg.

6. The Lake Lucerne
- no words needed.

Whenever you visit Lucerne you will be amazed by this mountain for sure. You can see it from all over Lucerne. And if you are keen enough you can even climb up there. Or there is also a cable car for the lazy ones.

8.Bars with a view

If you want to have a look all over lucerne by night you should visit the bar "Suite" in the hotel Monopol. Beside cool drinks you have a breathtaking view. And you are in the middle of the city. You can spot the umbrellas on the pictures - that's where the rooftop bar is located.

Or you can go to the Art Deco Hotel Montana which has an amazing terrace with a view all over the sea. And they have the Louis Bar where you can listen to  live jazz sessions.

9. The Beach
Yes, you've read beach. Lucerne even offers a beach.

10.Coffeeplaces

The Mardi Gras is one of the most beautiful cafés in Lucerne. There are flowers everyday. And it looks like a Brasserie in Paris. They have very good coffee and some oriental food like hoummus, Tabouleh and other little dishes such as tartar, greek salad and for dessert very delicious cakes.

This cozy café is located right next to a little park and the library. You will find many students here.
And they have fresh fruit juices and yummy cupcakes.

And to sum up: the view over lucerne in a little plane. That was an amazing experience. My beloved town looks like a playmobil city.
